Country Living

"Where the homes are not close together"

By the grace of God we here at Apocalypse Ministries is dedicated to

telling and revealing to SDA’s the truth, the whole truth and nothing

but the truth.  Truth that has been made to look obsolete, and to appear as of no consequence for the modern times in which we live. Sometimes truth seems so farfetched and unreasonable, especially if we have not heard it before, and if we do not understand the "whys" of the information presented. And this is especially true if the information does not come from an authority figure, but God is the highest AUTHORITY FIGURE in the entire universe, and this brief introduction to "Country Living" comes to us from God Almighty VIA his servant Ellen White.  "Out of the cities; out of the cities!''--this is the message the Lord has been giving me. The earthquakes will come; the floods will come; and we are not to establish ourselves in the wicked cities, where the enemy is served in every way, and where God is so often forgotten. The Lord desires that we shall have clear spiritual eyesight. We must be quick to discern the peril that would attend the establishment of institutions in these wicked cities. We must make wise plans to warn the cities, and at the same time live where we can shield our children and ourselves from the contaminating and demoralizing influences so prevalent in these places.--Life Sketches, pp. 409, 410. (1906) {CL 31.4}

Please look at the date of the above quote, (1906) Had we followed the council given us as a people, God would have blessed us so that today we would already own the choice country lands necessary at this most critical time in history. Nevertheless the council still holds true, and now we have to do what should have been done years ago, under the most discouraging and forbidden circumstances, But let me hasten to add that God is still willing to bestow his promise blessing if we will demonstrate faith and trust in His word. The blessings that should have come to us as a denomination, can still be obtained individually if we will obey. Listen to the prophet:

"Had the Israelites obeyed the instruction they received, and profited by their advantages, they would have been the world's object lesson of health and prosperity. If as a people they had lived according to God's plan, they would have been preserved from the diseases that afflicted other nations. Above any other people they would have possessed physical strength and vigor of intellect. They would have been the mightiest nation on the earth. God said: "Thou shalt be blessed above all people." Deuteronomy 7:14  {MH 283.}

Continuing on 285 she states:

The Israelites failed of fulfilling God's purpose, and thus failed of receiving the blessings that might have been theirs. But in Joseph and Daniel, in Moses and Elisha, and many others, we have noble examples of the results of the true plan of living. Like faithfulness today will produce like results. {MH 285}

Country living before the "Sunday Law"

There are several reasons why God wants us out of the city. One of the most important is for "CHARACTER" building so that you can receive the seal of God, which will qualify us to receive the "Latter Rain" and thus empower us to give the "Loud Cry" of the "Three Angels" messages, which will bring the other sheep not of this fold to the truth. Satan is doing all in his power to prevent this from ever happening, and therefore he is attacking any and everyone who will raise a voice of truth and stern rebuke. But God has 7000 that has not bowed the knee to Baal. Praise God!

QUOTE: "There are precious ones now hidden who have not bowed the knee to Baal. They have not had the light which has been shining in a concentrated blaze upon you. But it may be under a rough and uninviting exterior the pure brightness of a genuine Christian character will be revealed. In the day time we look toward heaven but do not see the stars. They are there, fixed in the firmament, but the eye cannot distinguish them. In the night we behold their genuine luster. {5T 80.1}

The time is not far distant when the test will come to every soul. The mark of the beast will be urged upon us. Those who have step by step yielded to worldly demands and conformed to worldly customs will not find it a hard matter to yield to the powers that be, rather than subject themselves to derision, insult, threatened imprisonment, and death. The contest is between the commandments of God and the commandments of men. In this time the gold will be separated from the dross in the church. True godliness will be clearly distinguished from the appearance and tinsel of it. Many a star that we have admired for its brilliancy will then go out in darkness. Chaff like a cloud will be borne away on the wind, even from places where we see only floors of rich wheat. All who assume the ornaments of the sanctuary, but are not clothed with Christ's righteousness, will appear in the shame of their own nakedness. {5T 81.1}

Country living after the Sunday Law

The passing of the "National Sunday Law" brings us to the beginning of the "LITTLE TIME OF TROUBLE." This little time of trouble lasts from the Sunday law to the "Close of Probation" for the entire world. It is during this "little time of trouble" that "Country Living" will become the "second line of defense." It is from this second line of defense that God will dispatch his troops to finish the work. Listen to what the prophet has to say:

"The work of the people of God is to prepare for the events of the future, which will soon come upon them with blinding force. In the world gigantic monopolies will be formed. Men will bind themselves together in unions that will wrap them in the folds of the enemy. A few men will combine to grasp all the means to be obtained in certain lines of business. Trades unions will be formed, and those who refuse to join these unions will be marked men.--Letter 26, 1903. {CL 10.3}

"The time is fast coming when the controlling power of the labor unions will be very oppressive. Again and again the Lord has instructed that our people are to take their families away from the cities, into the country, where they can raise their own provisions; for in the future the problem of buying and selling will be a very serious one. We should now begin to heed the instruction given us over and over again: Get out of the cities into rural districts, where the houses are not crowded closely together, and where you will be free from the interference of enemies.--Letter 5, 1904. {CL 9.5}

With a Piece of Land and a Comfortable Home.-- Whenever possible, it is the duty of parents to make homes in the country for their children. {AH 141.1}

Fathers and mothers who possess a piece of land and a comfortable home are kings and queens. {AH 141.2}

Do not consider it a privation when you are called to leave the cities and move out into the country places. Here there await rich blessings for those who will grasp them. {AH 141.3}

We recommend that you get the little booklet "Country Living," and read and pray.
